RFID Road Traffic Applications Test Project Austria

Lab tests and a pilot test concerning active and passive RFID systems were carried out to assess suitability for use in different areas of application.

Austroconsult elaborated the test arrangement concept, co-ordi-
nated all parties involved and took over test monitoring and docu-
mentation as well as compilation and analysis of test results.

SCADA System for Road Tunnel Surveillance Austria

For the surveillance of more than twenty road tunnels, a centralised control system was to be established. The SCADA system is located in the integrated command and control centre for emergency services.

Austroconsult, the expert planner of the SCADA system, performed services such as survey of existing installations, detailed planning, specifications, etc.


Third Extension Stage of Vienna Underground Austria

In the course of further network extension, Vienna Lines, the operators of Viennese underground, trams and buses, intended to install digital communication, signalling and information systems.

Austroconsult rendered consultancy services for requirements assessment and elaboration of specifications and was involved in test regimes and controlling.


Operation Centre and Radio Network Austria

The command and communication facilities of the Viennese emergency and utility services were to be upgraded, using SCADA for creating a real-time status picture.

Road Traffic Control and Urban Security Austria

The municipality intended to introduce a new concept concerning road safety (e.g., speed monitoring), fee parking and security for the towns inhabitants and businesses.

Austroconsult was engaged in the definition of services, planning, tendering, founding of the PPP company and supervision of rollout.


Radio and Despatching System Austria

The Regional Government / Fire Brigade being responsible for the provinces civil defence activities planned to renew their entire communication systems for voice, data and alarm functions.

Austroconsult was the consultant for the project and was engaged in planning, tendering, supervision and commissioning.


Digital Trunked Radio System Austria

The Ministry intended to implement a TETRA system for Police and Gendarmerie as well as for rescue, ambulance and other govern-
mental and regional emergency services.

Austroconsult was engaged in setting up the PPP model, system planning, tendering, advisory and engineering activities.


Road Pricing / Toll System Austria

The ASFINAG, the Austrian Motor- and Expressway Financing Corporation, planned to introduce a toll collection system for lorries in the Unterinntal, on one of Austrias most frequented motorway sections.

Austroconsult was contracted for the technical engineering of the toll, electricity, communications and electronic data processing lots.
